uring the Renaissance, a Courtesan was chosen for her Beauty, Charm, Wit and Intelligence in order to serve as companion to the Gentlemen of the Court. It was expected that a Courtesan was educated in classical subjects as Art, Music, Poetry and Politics.

he Courtier was as well an Artist, Poet and Musician who was employed by a Patron who would cover all his expenses. Famous Courtier's were Leonardo d' Vinci and Michelangelo!
