aria Bloom, who presently serves as Entertainment and
Hospitality Coordinator, has been a volunteer with the Renaissance Historical
Society for the past 14 years. She began as a Court Dancer with the Masque d'
San Marco Court and she also participated as a Street Character. She later went
on to join the Chessmasters group. Maria has also performed as Peasant Dancer
and still does for occasional "gigs". Maria Bloom first started serving on the
Council as Hospitality Coordinator, which is responsible for the annual VIP
Brunch/Reception held at the Festival.

he describes her full time job as being a mother to her son, Michael, who has
been a Chessmaster since 2nd Grade; having been on the Chess board as a
non-fighting pawn to date. Maria's day job is as a Medical Social Worker at a
teaching facility where she also acts as a Field Instructor for second year
Master's in Social Work students.
